The Pinotage 'Seaward' from the Spier winery originates in the South African Coastal Region, a land of decomposed granite soils and cool climates that allow for slow and concentrated ripening of the grapes. The vines, aged between eight and twenty-six years, grow on east-facing slopes and yield limited quantities. On the nose, hints of black cherry and blackberry emerge, enriched by spicy nuances of Jamaican pepper and vanilla. On the palate, it shows full-bodied, balanced, and well-integrated.
